Haute Travel

High fashion reaches to the outer limits.

For the last two years fashion design has had a not-so-secret love affair with space travel. In 2015 Valentino gowns were adorned with constellation maps and planets, and in 2016's Kate Spade sold clutches that were shaped like space ships or had the words "Space Cadet" scrolled across them. In March of 2017, Chanel showed their Fall/Winter 2017 and 2018 collection with a life-sized rocket in the middle of the runway and models dressed in intergalactic travel friendly garb. Needless to say, innovator and future-obsessed Karl Lagerfeld, had his head in the stars when creating this collection.

Now comes Coach's turn, and not to be outdone, they have covered their merchandise with NASA logos, images from outer space and have started a movement called Coach Space. In 2016 the fashion house went through a major rebranding geared towards a younger audience, and their latest capsule collection is just one more indicator that the mysteries of space are on the forefront of everyone's mind.
